What people say
It was an amazing opportunity to dig deeper into the Creole Culture, to meet inspiring artists representing a huge myriad of cultures and backgrounds, from Reunion Island, Louisiana, Haiti, British Gayana and Trinidad, playing their music, dancing, on its rhythm, their traditional dance and praying the way their oldest spiritual teachings have preached them.

Most importantly I learned that Kreole has a much more vast history than I previously imagined. I think the Kreol Fest is of high importance because it takes these highly populated but segregated communities of Kreol people spread around the borough of Brooklyn and brings them all together in unity and a righteous cause.

My experience of Natie has been nothing short of delightful—not only through having witnessed her tremendous musical artistry, but through our frequent socio-philosophical conversations that have significantly expanded what even I, a Haitian-American deeply rooted in Haiti's history and culture, understand about global/collective Krèol culture. She's a staple, positive force in the Bed-Stuy community we're both a part of and for that I give great thanks.
